POUSSIÈRE DE FLEURS , Coat

POUSSIÈRE DE FLEURS
Coat . Piece Unique
Hand-sewn.
Size S/M

This coat is created with a vintage Japanese Haori , crepe silk jacket , color red purple , with delicate art nouveau flowers in blue grey , with faded shades as we can see on the antique fabrics , because this jacket is very old . Because its simplicity , the colors not so bright , the flowers pattern , it can be from early Taisho era ( 1910s ) before the exuberant 1920s . But it can be early Shôwa ( 1926 / 1930 )
It is difficult to give a specific date for the Japanese clothes . If you look on books or other information sources , the date ranges are rarely specific , but between 20 to 30 years for one dating.

To preserve the hoary "roots" , who are worn open or  eventually little closed  by an elegant knot with two silk cords ( himo ) ,to have the possibility to glimpse and to admire the kimono , I made 2 large silk embroidered stripes , finished on each side by long beaded pendants 31 inch / 79 cm ( vintage rosary beads in wood and glass from 1930s , Lampwork glass beads ,  pattern flowers made in India )
You can open or close easily the stripes , with magnetic snap pressures .

On the Haori , I hand-sewn mosaics of silk embroidered , to dissimulate parts who are with small damages .... "she " is an old lady , don't forget !

Dimensions :
Sleeve to Sleeve : 48 inch / 122cm , which means 3/4 sleeves
Length : 50 inch / 127 cm
Width : 43.5 inch / 110 cm + 7 inch / 18 cm stripe closed
Sleeve length: 18 inch / 46 cm
Lining inside the sleeves is in silk , cream . But , unfortunately it exists traces on it , more dark, as we can see sometimes on old fabrics ... the sign of the age !

Cleaning instruction : dry cleaning .
To iron with steam . The Haori smells nothing ( I am very sensitive for that ) , but when we iron it , it is a strong smell of naphthalene who comes from it , to quickly disappear. Persons can consider these 2 things as defaults , but it is not my view . I have an old lady between my hands and I want her to continue her life , after certainly generations of oblivion.
She gave me emotions .....

The second part of the coat is made with an up-cycled silk , embroidered .
Border multicolor silk damask stripes .
Lining in the same ale blue grey silk , hand-sewn

I'm "petite size " 1,59 cm / 5'2" M
The dummy I use to create the garments is more thinner and tall than me ;) Height approx 5'8 // 1m73
